Bodyspace Gallery Views
2003
The Maass Gallery, SUNY Purchase, NY

A mediation of the private spaces of my body and my studio and the public gallery space. The space of the picture plane. Five interconnected yet independent works. On view were three site-specific installations: Hair Wall, Corner Space, and Labia Scrolls, created to work with the unique architecture of the Maass Gallery. Two series of prints: Drawing the Body and Bodysite/Bodysight. In a case near the entrance I displayed my "tools", rubber castings of my body parts, fresh with paint. Photographic, imprinted, cast traces of my body. Absence pervaded the space until opening night, when I rejoined my work in the performance Bodyspace.
